Scott Wallace Statement Ahead of Trump’s Anti-Choice SCOTUS Nomination

Calls on Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick to stand up for women

BUCKS COUNTY, PA – Today, Scott Wallace, Democratic Nominee for Congress in PA-01, released the following statement ahead of President Trump’s announcement of an anti-choice Supreme Court nominee:

“As President of Planned Parenthood of Bucks County, my mother instilled in me at an early age that when women are empowered to make their own decisions about their health care and family planning, everybody benefits. Roe v. Wade is the cornerstone of women’s reproductive rights, giving women the right to choose. But Trump and his new Supreme Court are trying to turn back the clock to a time when it was illegal for women to make their own decisions about their bodies, their health, and their families,” Wallace said. “Representative Brian Fitzpatrick has been a loyal ally to Trump in his outrageous, anti-woman agenda. He voted to defund Planned Parenthood and has not uttered a peep of objection in the face of Trump’s consistent mistreatment of women. I challenge Fitzpatrick to use his voice to stand up for women! For the women of Bucks and Montgomery County, everything hangs in the balance with this Supreme Court pick – not just the right to choose, but possibly the right to birth control, as well. Fitzpatrick should take action now and urge Senator Toomey to reject any anti-choice justice. We all need to watch what Trump does tonight – and then mobilize to protect Pennsylvania women, starting with a call to Senator Toomey.”
