Bucks County, PA – Today, Scott Wallace, Democratic nominee for Congress in PA-1, announced he was endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund. He released the following statement:
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, an outstanding organization that has stood up for women’s health and reproductive rights and provided quality, affordable health care to women in Pennsylvania for generations.
“As President of Planned Parenthood of Bucks County, my mother instilled in me at an early age that when women are empowered to make their own decisions about their health care and family planning, everybody benefits — their families, their communities, and our society. That’s why I spent a large part of my career advancing women’s rights and empowering women and girls around the world — especially by promoting access to family planning and the full range of reproductive health care.
“While we have made great strides since my mother’s time at Planned Parenthood of Bucks County, women’s rights are under attack everyday. With the entire Congress and the White House under far-right, anti-choice control, it is more important than ever to protect Planned Parenthood’s work and the great value they deliver to the women of America. If we needed any reminder of how much is at risk, we need only read yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling in which they sided with anti-women, anti-choice zealots whose only goal is to mislead women seeking reproductive health care.
“Brian Fitzpatrick lets down Pennsylvania women with every vote to defund Planned Parenthood and limit their ability to make their own health care decisions. In Congress, I promise to be a champion for women, and that means always defending their right to choose and protecting organizations like Planned Parenthood dedicated to providing safe and affordable health care for every woman and family in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.”
